Pre-Facelift facelift

Been looking around for my first FFRR and found a few 54 plate ones that seem to have touch screens factory fitted - I thought the touch screens were introduced as part of the facelift program?

I noticed they also have the auto-lights feature which I've never seen on a pre-facelift either - What other pre-facelift changes were there to this model? .... I'm assuming as it has the touch screen it has to be MOST system?

Me too Smile

It's one of the best models IMO if you have the petrol non supercharged models. The BMW engine is better than the Jag lump, but the ZF gearbox 5 speed is weaker than the newer 6 speed......

I love it though, I have the touchscreen nav and all the other nice to have bits in the car and most importantly the old fashioned handbrake. I hate the elecotrnic models......

Mines facelifted to 2010 spec, so love it!

My next Rangie will be a 4.4 TDV8 I think or a 5.0 Supercharged. But a few years away yet..... Used to have:
2005 FFRR 4.4 Vogue - BRC LPG Conversion & Remapped

Now have:
2008 SSRR 3.6 TDV8 - HSE and plenty of toys

Having owned the Jag engine for a number of years in both 4.0 and 4.2 S guise it's just poor compared to the BMW engine. The heads are poor, cam followers wear excessively, valves burn amongst other problems. Generally a noisy engine I find the Jag in a bad way not as in a pure grunt way. And it is Censored poor when converted to LPG.

Granted the BMW engine isn't as powerful.

My own view, welcome to disagree. Used to have:

Now have:

Couple more questions, is the 4x4 info screen (showing wheel articulation) displayed, was reverse cam included and is venture cam fittable?

Thanks

All these things were present (minus the reversing camera).

I sourced my dad's 54 plate Vogue and at the time I had an early 2006MY facelift, I was surprised how many features it had such as:

Auto Lights
Touch screen nav
MP3 player CD
4x4 info and VC
Voice command
Bluetooth

If you can find a clean unmodified example that's not got the pretend facelift look grilles and vents then you'll have a cracking car for the money. Discovery 4 HSE

I prefer the original l322 external design so got the latest one I could find with the improved touch screen nav 2005 model late 2004 reg. It is a great drive, although I am getting used to the 'noisy' td6 having driven petrol engined vehicles up to now. But when you floor it, it has great power and sounds good too. Tom
