Glenrands Land Rover - Liphook, Hampshire

Well after finally purchasing an L322 as described on another thread, I started looking for places to get the alignment done. A few places were recommended by Google, but Glenrands were recommended to me by forum member DrRob. I'd always take a forum recommendation over anything else so took the plunge and booked in with them for an alignment and health check.

Ross and his team there were absolutely spot on. Provided an accurate itemised quote for repairs that came up above and beyond what I originally booked in for. Provided photo evidence of all the issues they had found and openly discussed what was in need of immediate repair and what could wait until the next service or MOT.

They took their time, at my instruction, and had the car for 4 working days. In that time the following was done:
- replaced cracked inlet manifold
- replaced all adjusters required for alignment due to damage caused (rounded heads, stripped threads etc) from a previous owner.
- replaced, lower arms, anti-roll bar links, and worn bushes.
- vehicle health check.
- full alignment.
- extensive road test to ensure no further issues with feedback from Ross.

I was kept informed at every major step of the way either via phone or via detailed photos over WhatsApp/ email. The car was returned to me in a lovely valeted condition with no marks at all and driving in a much, much better way.

The work was expensive, but I was happy to part with the cash with a place like that where they really do look after the customer and their vehicle. The final price was actually a little less than the original quote too. Absolute top recommendation from DrRob and one that I would happily also support now. Even if they are a fair drive away, it would be well worth giving them a call for all things L322.

Cheers

Another vote of confidence in Glenrands.

I was on the pre-Christmas trip to pick the mother-in-law up and do the 'Family Circle' trip to drop off and pick up presents to Seaford, Newhaven, Waterlooville and back to Liphook.

On the way to Liphook on the Friday I got the dreaded red DPF Full - See Dealer message and the GAP IID couldn't force the regen. In fact, the soot mass went UP from 23g to 32g!

I messaged Glenrands at about 21:20 on a Friday night, not expecting a response until Saturday morning at the earliest, more likely Monday. 5 minutes later, Ross responded. Messages were exchanged and the upshot was for me to take the Rangie in at 09:00 on Monday 19th December 2022 and they'd take a look and see what they could do.

Turns out that the turbo drain mod hasn't been done on my engine (despite it being a December 2012 build!) and that's why my DPF is filling so fast and so often, despite 15 miles of motorway driving each way to and from work.

Long story short, they got me back on the road and it's been fine since.

They were truly excellent and their customer service is second to none.

If you're in the south central area don't bother looking anywhere else, go to Glenrands.

Dunc. The life you have is the only one you'll get; make the most of it.

I seem to be the only one that has had a less than perfect experience with Glenrands. Maybe I should give them a second chance. 2011MY 4.4TDV8 Autobiography Baltic Blue

My experience wasn't excellent either, felt like I had to fight for information and was given paperwork for a different car and suspect the diagnosis of mine was therefore mixed with the other one 🙁.

Maybe another try is on the cards, I didn't actually meet Ross. Might ask to have a chat with him next time around to go through anything/everything.

Call Ross and talk through your individual concerns I’d suggest respectfully. Very unusual as they are top notch compared to a hell of a lot of other places in the south Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

I spoke with Ross and he wants to resolve these any any other customer issues so please do call him, speak direct about your experience and he will do his very best to fix.

Disclaimer: I have no formal or financial affinity to Glenrands but when a local specialist as good as them is around I want to keep them going for my own selfish reasons Thumbs Up Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Wanted to update on this one; I spoke to Ross about the problems I'd had on the first visit & after going through the problems I was having with the car itself he offered to personally look at my car along with the other technician.

My first experience was a one-off as the experience this time was brilliant & I can't fault them. I would advise anyone who is thinking of using Glenrands to go for it! Definitely don't be worried about discussing anything in depth with either Ross or one of the techs. He took the time to walk me through what they had done and what the next steps would be. They were both more than happy to go through some of my probably annoying questions (thanks for putting up with me!) even if it meant having to come back after running some more checks.

Credit should definitely be given where it is due, they exceeded expectations and totally alleviated any concerns I had from the first visit.
