Wiring loom question, 2002-2005 Comms pack.

If anyone has stripped a BMW era L322 with the comms pack, I'd appreciate some advice please!

Where does the wiring from the roof mounted microphone go? Is it routed back along the roof into the rear of the car to connect to the necessary modules, or does it go down an A-pillar and then along a sill? If the latter, which A-pillar does it travel down?

I'm keen to modify the wiring to work with an aftermarket head unit. I've seen it can be done on the E39 which shares the same tech and I have a how-to guide as to what needs to be done there, but it would save me a useful amount of effort if I could cut into this where the A-pillar meets the dash rather than having to run fresh wiring all the way up to the roof console and drop the headlining.

Thank you.

If the wiring runs down the A-Pillar it'll be bound into the entire loom so you'd need to know the colours, etc to identify it anyway.

Removing the A pillar cover is 1 screw, then 4 screws to drop the sun visor, and 2 bolts to remove the light fitting from the centre of the headlining.

You can then run a cable up to the headlining very easily.

I've just done it to run the cables for deployable side steps to the blank position opposite the sunroof switch, it's very simple and doesn't take much effort.
