Bloody hell. Think I’m happy with my £272 I think it was. Obviously not as new or as much annual mileage as the OP.

Mine went from about £1000 to £1600 on renewal end of Nov (high risk North London post code). I am with Direct Line and, playing with the job titles (Project Manager is apparently a low risk job, we all manage projects, right?) the system refused to quote when I changed anything so I simply went with the crazy renewal. All other insurers were £2000 plus. Just have to suck it up, they will come down one day. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso |

Mine was stolen last year, leading to a 50k theft claim. The cheapest I could find then was esure at £2.5k. Now it's due for renewal the best price I've found is an untenable £6.5k. I'll continue looking but insurance costs may force a sale. |

I’ve run mine through the comparison site I used last time and it’s jumped up a lot, from £550 last May to £1,400! Could be worse, I also looked at a new M5 Competition and that was £2,000…. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

Same story here - ultra high risk East London. Went from £865 to £1700. Most expensive quote being £10k. If it goes over £2k next year will probably sell - only used once a month or so for longish trips to Wales. L405 4.4 AB Loire Blue

Just had the same as you crasher, up to £712 from £360 last year with the AA. I tried the comparison sites but once you add the extra bits you want and check the excess isn’t sky high they worked out around the same so I just had to suck it up. |

I've heard about insurance premiums rocketing so I checked mine the other day. It's only gone up by £50 so I wonder why it's gone up significantly for some and not others? Location maybe? Kev

Interesting analysis from Money Saving Expert today saying it’s supply chain issues driving up parts cost and so claims settlement amounts. Advice is to try and fix early; https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/insurance/car-insurance/ Update: by coincidence as I was posting this I got my renewal notification email with an increase of £211 ( ~43% ). Immediately checked on Compare the market and got it back down to £331. I’m awaiting a call back from site sponsor A-Plan tomorrow to see if they can do any better. TDV8 4.4 2012 |

Got my renewal through the other day, full no claims, no points or convictions pending, £2800 😳, and not even in central London 🙄, thought I read somewhere that insurance companies can’t penalise existing customers, so have to give the same rate as new customers ?, but after a call with the intention to tell them what to do with it, amazingly he managed to find that he can discount it due to ‘being a loyal customer’ hey presto, just over £700 saved, which was better than the comparison sites, still more than £1k more than last year though, oh well ‘joys of motoring’ as my dad used to say 🙄 |

My cost is in a different league but shows the value of spending some time getting quotes.
