I've tried a search but can't find similar...

When I start the car the airflow comes from the face vents only whatever the previous settings were. So, I tend to drive with screen and feet activated and these 'selections' remain but the doors aren't in this position anymore if you see what I mean?

To force the doors to move I have worked out if I press 'defrost' after about 5 seconds it moves the airflow where you would expect and then I can reselect what I want. However - additionally when pressing defrost the screen heaters buttons light up as expected - but - to get those to then actually work I have to recycle the button from 'on' to 'off' to 'on'.

In addition to this I am getting cold air on the passenger side and rear despite temperature selection on maybe 8 out of 10 times.

Anybody know anything about these units that could be causing this?

Sounds like the Blend doors are sticking & only move when you force them i.e when you select defrost.

If you're only getting cold air out of the vents, then this is either the heater control valves sticking or possibly the centre air vent on on the blue dots rather than the red dots.

Whole my lifie I use the HVAC like that: on windscreen + on legs, and this combination is activated 24/7/365 and almost never changed. But not with RR, its impossible here. If I select this combination and leave like that for the night, in the morning all doors are closed and not resume this configuration automaticaly. However, lights on buttons stay on, but doors not open. Every morning I need to press air direction buttons off and on again, only then it works.
I even replace the climate control, not help.
Somewhere I heard this is like it is and there is nothing to do with that, just live with that.
Someone say use auto mode, but I dont like it.
What about other members?

I’m sorry to hear you have the same problem but happy I am not the only one! It can’t be just how it is because it didn't do this the first year and a half I had it! I was wondering about changing the hvac unit but it seems it hasn’t solved the problem for you.

Our issue is identical, i suspect if one of us solves it then we will be able to replicate the fix easily enough.

I suspect my ‘cold air on passenger side and rear’ is in fact a blend door and not related to the main issue posted above.
