We received a letter in the post from Direct Line today reminding us that as per the terms of the insurance our 2012 L322 now needs to have a tracker installed on it or they will no longer cover it for theft.

I called to query it as the terms of the insurance never mentioned a tracker on this car. On others they have, but never on the L322.

Apparently it's because the policy is due to renew on 25th March and the terms of the renewal state that for the 2012 TDV8 to be covered for theft it now needs to have a tracker.

Has anyone else received similar? I understand that RR's are being stolen a lot at the moment but I didn't think it was the L322's! 🤷‍♂️

Is it worth trying other insurers or are they all insisting on similar these days?

Anyone got any good recommendations for a tracker on an L322?

try Sainsburys insurance. came out cheapest for me by a long shot

Mines with RAC no tracker requirement and a good quote. I’d shop around and see what is available elsewhere. Need to include cost of tracker as applicable if comparing quotes. 2012 tdv8 Westminster arrived Jan 19 gone Dec 23

Sainsbury's quoted £325 without a tracker. Seems a no brainer.

The car does circa 2.5k miles a year, and lives in a garage. To get it out you'd need to move 3 other cars. A tracker really isn't needed

Called DirectLine this week to tell them that due to their tracker requirement we wouldn’t be renewing.

Apparently there was an error and we were sent a letter by mistake telling us the car needed a tracker.

Anyway, we now have it in writing from them that the car is fully insured including for theft without needing a tracker.

All done and dusted for £300.

Yeah, mine was £292 fully comp protected but will soon be £394 as I’m moving and it will be on a drive rather than in a locked garage…..
