Went for a little XC Ski after work yesterday. -25C with a windchill of -33C. Got back to the RR after about 90 minutes to find that my Fob, which was in my backpack, was inoperable. Fortunately I had a couple of chemical heat pads which took ~20minutes to bring the Fob back to life.

I've since visited the university of Youtube and now know how to access and start the car with a dead Fob battery.

or keep the key in an inside pocket when you're skiing.

Lots of electronics ive used in work only certified to work from -5 to -20 range so I'd be keeping it close inside a coat First time FFRR owner

Second that - I always keep the key on a bit of paracord around my neck, keeps the batteries useful and I always know where it is - having it 'somewhere in a daysack' would be leaving too much to chance for me!

I didn't bother keeping it warm because I'd never had any issues with my L322 Fob. A LR tech informed me today that L405 type Fobs are more susseptable to the cold. And on today's ski trip it was stored in my inside pocket!
