Eurotunnel prices

My usual return trip to France with my 8m ((incl A-bar) caravan costs about £430 to leave as schools close and return as they reopen ((6 weeks summer holidays). This year when booking I was asked on the app what length of caravan I had for the first time. The holiday is a couple of weeks shorter than normal as my daughter is getting married so my wife needs to be there to help even though it’s held at a venue that’s doing everything. Must just be what mothers do!
So going out on 22/7 and returning 20/8 the crossing cost is £879. 🤬
Whilst I’m at it, why are we paying 50p a litre more for diesel than the French?
Rant over. I’ll get my coat. 😢

I managed to get a booking for the 23rd July, which I think is the Sunday, coming back on the 20th of August but at ridiculous times and managed to get it for £674. I think I have to be on the return journey at 8 am.

Stan, Thought they had stopped Newhaven to LeHavre some time ago. It was, as I understand it, a trial. AFAIK it is now just the original Newhaven to Dieppe. It’s a route we use regularly as it suits us. Also, being over 60 😁, there is a 20% discount.
PS. No Newhaven to Le Havre route on ferry sites. John

No worries, Stan. It just emphasises that you are most likely elligible for the discount. Laughing Laughing John

Age is handy at times - Saga car insurance includes unlimited European use Cool

Eurotunnel have changed all of their pricing - it's now dependent on the size of the car too - and will automatically put you in the right height carriage.

England

Pre covid I use to take groups of new bikers to Belgium for ice cream....don't laugh we usually paid £15 each way so £30 in total. Not to bad for a day trip they now want £45 each way so day trips are out iv not run a bike trip since.

As a family we would do the same trip in the car to Eypres in Belgium for a day trip and to attend the evening remembrance service held daily at the Menin gate needless to say that's out of the window to.

My mate usually goes to Spain a few times a year he has switched to the ferry at more than half price of the tunnel, he has a trailer with his bike on.

I'm glad I didn't buy a tin tent now.....

Agreed : eurotunnel prices are very silly now and that’s just the car. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

He who dies with the most toys wins...
