Got a call from dealer - first since I ordered in Dec 21 - I specced space saver wheel - would I like to drop or switch to full sized as the space savers are out of stock and will cause my build to be delayed etc etc

The JLR world is a weird one - allegedly some HSE cars like my order arriving with Meridian 3D some not - supposedly the Signature is the issue and ABs being downgraded but no consistency to whether HSEs are downgraded

The uncertainty and sense they are making up as they go along is incredible

When shipping rates are falling and other recession indicators are flashing JLR would be wise to sharpen their customer services - but I doubt they will

I moved from space saver to full size, dealer notified me back in September they thought it was holding my build back. It was called forward and locked down the following month. MY23 PHEV HSE

Here they give 12-18 months waiting time. Prices of available cars are 35 (RRS) to 60k (RR) euro over list..

Had a call from my dealer yesterday to ask if I had made up my mind on colour as when I placed my order early Jan this year I mentioned I might consider Carpathian as an alternative - I was happy with the original choice so said no but if he had and P530’s in AB coming along I would consider one.

Had a call back a couple of hours later saying he had a black/black/black P530 AB due in April that was a cancelled order but was spec locked or he had a slot for my original D350 AB I could have that was spec amendable due in May which was again a cancelled order!

Bearing in mind my order was only placed in Jan this year and I was told I would not see it for a minimum of 12-18 months I jumped at the chance but left my original order in - once allowed I will then change that order from a D350 AB to a P530 AB.

Now this will be the 4th car I have bought through the same dealer so I am possibly classed as a good customer but the service is a, very good and b, they are treating me very well and as a valued customer neither of which I have ever had from one of the large dealerships

So new car day coming sooner than expected  "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you.

These deals do come up and you just need to develop the relationship with the dealer.

There will be a line of other customers that were not offered the car.

The supply issues will start to ease with the L460 as they have with defender.

If you were in the market to buy one anyway, it’s a simple decision.

Having started this thread I am now in a position to post almost my end bit, possibly, probably, maybe.

Today it's one year since we signed the contract (order), but we still do not know when we can expect to get our P510e AB delivered.

Mine also due at dealer tomorrow having told me it would be the 17th. Delivery to me booked for 14th. P440e HSE. Portofino Blue with perlino interior. Ordered 6 Feb 2022. Insurance has been a bit shocking and brokers saying it is the most stolen car in the UK. My wife wants me to give it back already!
