TPMS - Was this fitted to my 2012 L322?

Bought my 2012 4.4TDV8 Westminster back in 2021, it came with 22” L405 wheels on it and they have been fine.

Recently noticed one tyre was really low after a short journey, so pumped everything up but the dash never provided a warning.
I checked the owners manual and it suggests there is TPMS, but I assume when whoever fitted these wheels they didn’t swap the valves over, or is it just not very sensitive/good? Would they have had to code the error out?

I’ll be swapping these wheels back to 20”a soon so will have to get some TPMS valves if not fitted

Any help appreciated, I can’t find a definitive answer online

My 2012 Westie doesn't have TPMS and I have to say I'm quite glad it's not there! The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile

TPMS was an option on the Westies, mine doesn't have it (thankfully!). I believe you can fit the TPMS Valves, but may need to program the TPMS function using the Gap IID Tool in the CCF.

My Autobiography doesn't have them fitted either.
Just has the empty electrical socket behind the wheel arch lining.

Interesting that it was an option, makes sense as this was prior to it being mandatory. Checked the build sheet and it’s not listed as an option so safe to say it never had it.

Is it something you can enable then with a Gap IID Tool (and valves)

We upgraded from a 2008 TDV8 Vogue SE to a 2012 Autobiography.

The 2008 had TPMS as standard but it was optional on al 2012’s regardless of spec.

We only found out when we had a blowout on the A1.

I looked into retrofitting it. You’d need:

TPMS ECU
4 new TPMS Valves
4 new TPMS Receivers
The receiver that lives above the sunroof switch

In the end I didn’t bother.

Yeah that is probably too much to be arsed with.
