i started detailing the bodywork on Monday morning and still going. it is taking about 2 hours a panel. i have always used a
rotor power polisher but for Christmas, I had a dual action polisher and a lot of consumables to go with it which I had asked for . better than a pair of slippers and new p jays . takes a bit of getting used to but I have sorted it I think. so good wash down to start and then first mop head to use was a farecla wool mop with the new 360 cutting compound from farecla went over 2 times with 360 . then replaced the head with a yellow foam farecla with the rupes fine yellow top compound 2 good passes. then on with a new wax I have never used is soft 99 fusso polish. i cant belive the finish that is being achieved with this set up
I am used to a foam g mop and g3 cutting compound how things have moved on from when I started in the body shop . the finish that you can get is like glass mirror finish. i did use a rupes wool mop this was recommended to me but I found it to be rubbish it kept shredding all the wool so that is in the bin and not cheap as well . never mind live and learn I am well pleased with the finish.

Top Job! Thumbs Up
I (as an Ex-car detailer) do like my Rupes dual action polisher for finishing but for cuting I still use my simple Flex rotary polisher.
BTW, like your shiny C-pilar cover

thank you peter Thumbs Up . hi ansi as you say after using the rotary for 40 years you get set in your ways and think you are too old in the tooth to try anything new but this setup works well and a lot lighter to use. yes, I sprayed the c pillar covers the java black body colour because trying to keep them looking nice on the original was becoming a pain all the time I have one panel to go to do something with the one below the windscreen or the scuttle panel not sure whether to spray it or cover it with vinly car wrap we will see. new vehicle purchase

sandyt i would make a suggestion when you give it a very good clean after such a long time I would get a . g3 pro 7191a deep clean clay mitt with a spray bottle of g3 pro detailer spray and give the car a once-over with this setup and you will be surprised with the shine and finish that is left.it removes all contaminants from the paintwork lot of vids to show you how if you are not sure give it a go . new vehicle purchase

I have been so lazy because it is going in to have the wheel arches and sills done - bonnet and bumpers and wing mirrors will be painted at same time - but I will use your recommendation on my other cars thanks you
