Mine has finally arrived at the dealership. Saw it today and will collect March 2nd. Originally ordered November 5th 2021 and was told to expect it in March 2022.

Like everyone else, 5k price increase and a downgraded Meridian stereo.

Your first? Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

Has anyone done the factory collection?

I’m curious as to whether they prep the car any better or worse than the dealers generally do.

Yes to the factory collection. It’s excellent and the standard is good but not detailer good.

First RR? No, I have had a few and I'm trading my latest in for this one. I do think it'll be my last though. Been suitably unimpressed with the whole process this time round.

Are you guys seriously having to take cars which have a lower spec than you ordered, being charged an extra £5k over the original price even though you paid deposits nearly 2 years ago?

If so, the brass-neck of JLR is breathtaking, verging on criminal. All LR cars from 1984

That’s about the size of it chalky, and the tone I got from the dealer was “take it or leave it” as they know they have a queue of people waiting for them and could make even more on it.

Mine has been prepped and is waiting for me to collect in March however I am so close to walking away from it if there is one more hiccup! Even the conversation over discount on mats, dog guard, roof rack etc wound me up MY23 PHEV HSE

It’s really quite an accomplishment of JLR and it’s dealer network to be able to treat it’s customers so very badly, sell a half developed, randomly spec’ed, randomly priced product and still have a waiting list so long that dealers can make 20% markup out of cancelled orders from the few customers who reached the end of their tether.

I did the factory collection when I took delivery of the SVA in 2019.

Picked up by a chauffeur and driven to Solihull where we were shown around after lunch and had a few visits of some areas of the build/production line. Then had a short time off road on the course and back for collection - well prepped but not as good as a detailer.

Car then presented in a special way (sorry I can't say how) and then a 5 min handover - basically set up my phone and asked if I had any questions!

As its included in the price (normally £1200) I would at least do it once Thumbs Up "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you.

I had the same when I collected my car, although still waiting for the factory tour as was unable to do it because of lockdown in the facility. Emailed and phoned since, to enquire when I could do the tour, but no replies so looks like I won't be doing it!

As regards the treatment you guys are experiencing by the dealers, I think it might be because the UK doesn't really matter to JLR, it's the USA and China, although they might be coming a cropper re China. All LR cars from 1984

Take it or leave it, eh?

Well, that kind of corporate attitude has helped me decide on the latter, at least for the time being. I may yet be back in the market in a year or two, but otherwise LR will not be seeing any of my cash in the near future and I can’t believe I’m alone in making some of these judgments.

If they genuinely do have enough buyers prepared to put up with price rises, downgrades and general mushroom management treatment then good luck to them! 2016 SDV8 AB

Took a call today regarding ceramic coat which I had already declined. Hard sell from a chap who clearly didn’t appreciate what we have been through a firm “no thankyou” from me and he was still giving me the sell. Put the phone down in the end, I use a local detailing company for paint protection, dealers getting nothing else from me. MY23 PHEV HSE

You might just retract that last line when you take delivery. I had a real issue over a delay on a fault repair, and was about to tell them to make a price and walk away. I even said ‘’never again’ , p*ss poor . Anyway I hadn’t been in the car for more than a minute and I knew I had to tell the poor salesman at the dealer… I was wrong, I would buy again( if I haven’t fallen off my perch by then!) . It’s a joy to drive.

Ps
Our cars are virtually the same. Black on Black with added black, you achieved a fridge, I’m VERY jealous!

I took the ceramic ????? type of coating. When they gave me the car back it was like brand new. Covers inside and out. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits.
