Hi guys I know this topic has been discussed before,however the trail goes cold so here we go again.
I have 2 cd changers the one does not play and just says invalid disc ?
The other will play but only the first 1 minute or so of the first track of each disc , will not play track 2-3-4-5-6-and so on
If I give the changer a gentle wack it will go further up to 3 minutes and sometimes the second track will play but only 20 seconds .
I have an ideal of the issue with the second one that plays but would be more confident if someone else comes up with the same idea 🤔

We have a result, I decided to look at the cd changer that would only play the first minute or so of the first track of each disc
I removed the cover 4 screws , followed by the cover on the rear that houses the multi plug and circuit board 4 screws + 2 on what looks like a heat dispersal plate ,
you have to peel the warranty label to do so .
Remove the cover exposing the circuit board remove 3 screws to release the top cover.
Once inside remove the 4 shock absorbers and 2 suspension springs then unplug the Ribbon cable from the rear circuit board this will allow the lower cover to be removed just leaving the internal cd changer.
Next turn over the changer so you can see the laser motor drive.
There is a small circuit board held in with 1 screw to be removed adjacent to the motor drive cogs , this will expose a tension spring on the driveshaft for the laser held by 1 screw remove the spring followed by the laser ribbon cable .
There are 2 tabs on the ribbon cables you need to push them back then ribbon will release.
You can now lift the laser head out
On close inspection the drive cog on the worm gear had a hairline crack in it which allowed the teeth to open up causing it to jam .
As I had another changer available I swapped the worm drive from the other and reassembled everything in reverse and it now works perfectly

No luck on the changer that comes up invalid disc 😤

Replacement from a second device and works perfectly.
The gears are also available to buy individually.
