EPAS motor

Hi all
So last weekend my L405 lost all PAS and started squealing badly, upon inspection the bolts that hold the power steering motor onto the rack had corroded and snapped off, i literally pulled the motor out with my hand. It was still turning with the wheel with no dash warning lights (surprisingly) so my local garage managed to drill out the snapped bolts and put the motor back. Now it doesn't appear to work at all, does anyone know if it needs a reset or something? JLR specialist didn't seem to know. I know this is common on Evoke/Disco Sport but i cant find anyone who has done a home repair to get an answer. HELP!

Hi, I have just had this exact same problem on my L405, bolts snapped and the motor fell out, no warnings on dash and the motor was still spinning with each turn of the wheel. My local garage managed to drill out the broken bolts and re attach it but it doesn't work at all now, does anyone know if this now needs some sort of reset?

This very same thing has just happened to a friend of mine on his Mercedes GLE.

It cost him £5K to repair as the dealer were suggesting it needed a complete new rack.

None of the indies would touch it so he had to swallow it.
