United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.2 SC V8 Buckingham Blue
[SOLD] 2006 Supercharged Range Rover

Now sold

2006 Supercharged Range Rover - £3,500 ono

232k miles
MOT due November 2023
Buckingham blue, black leather interior
5 previous owners (I am the 6th owner)

It has the usual Supercharged high specification as well as a Westfalia detachable towbar and a 10% reduced supercharger pulley.

I have owned this car for almost 8 years. It presents very well and externally and internally doesnt look like a car of this age or one that has covered this mileage. It passed the MOT inspection earlier this week with only one advisory - which was the tester noting the underside is under sealed!

Today it has had an oil service. During my ownership I have carried out alot of preventative maintenance, if the car has needed something it has recieved it - e.g. its had the supercharged rebuilt, all engine ancilaries and belts replaced, all cooland hoses, brake lines renewed, radiators, viscous fan, the list is long.

A refurbished gearbox was installed by the last owner, it wasn't quite right so I had the valve block tested and solenoids replaced and then the gearbox firmware updated. It works perfectly.

The rear sills / arches have recieved rust repair and this was done properly with corrosion cut out and repair panels or rust free cuts welded in, i.e. It wasn't bodged and is something the new owner will not need to worry about.

Tyres are Goodyear all round with only a few thousand miles on. Brake discs and pads are recently replaced and have only covered a few thousand miles.

Bad points:

- there are some gaps in previous service history with nothing recorded between 50k and 117k miles

- where the rear quarter panels have been painted following the arch repairs they don't have the same level of shine as the rest of the bodywork. They are presentable but to may warrant a repaint if you are minded to.

- over the last year it has been intermittently throwing an engine warning for both banks running lean. This is most likely a vacuum leak or air leak somewhere rather than a sensor or an actual running issue, because it affects both banks at one. I have fitted a new PCV, oil cap and o rings to front breather pipe as well as finding an re-attaching a loose vacumn pipe at the rear of the supercharger. This may well have addressed the issue but as it is an intermittant warning light only time will tell. Therefore any buyer must accept this (and that it's an old Range Rover that will try it's best to let you down!)

- the paint on alloy wheels are showing signs of age and to be perfect would benefit from refurbishmemt

Overall a great vehicle and I doubt you will find one as good as this for the money. It is priced to reflect the high mileage.

My personalised plate has been removed and the registration is now FN06 XLD

That’s a clean looking car that doesn’t look like it’s done anywhere near that mileage, especially the edge of the drivers seat!

Hopefully it sells quickly!

I should add, with this being a 2006 it is in the lower cost road tax category - something like £360 per year vs £600. Also ULEZ compliant.

Any sign of your warning lights since your first post?

Yes unfortunately it came back on (with lean running on bank 2 only this time) which is why I haven't really been pushing the sale. However! Over Christmas I bought a smoke machine and have smoke tested the inlet system which revealed an air leak around the brake servo vacumn line. I bought a new seal / coupling for that which I fitted yesterday, that leak would definitely have resulted in an engine warning light as unmetered air would have been entering the engine. I am hoping therefore that this issue is fixed, but need to drive it for a good few miles to be 100% certain.
