Changed the oil again 150 mile ago (Petronas this time, if its good enough for Lewis Hamilton its good enough for me ) thats the 4th time this service year. Again the MTS has dropped about 800 miles! But this time I know I have an interrupted AR which caused it.

I was in the middle of a AR (actually near the end ) when I met roadworks and was stopped for about 5-8 mins, this caused the AR to stop.
So Engine on idle for about 5 to 8 mins and an AR in progress is probably the worst scenario for having an interrupted AR lots of fuel being injected and suddenly cut off

Nearly all short urban trips ca. 8 miles, the odd longer run 30-50 miles averaging 25-29mpg.
Interesting to compare with any other V6 owner who cares to take up the mantle?
MPG on the display is optimistic, compared to brimming the tank method, shock, horror!

So, my tiny mileage of 350m/month = 12 months between oil changes, but if I did any more, interim changes would be required. However, in 2023 I intend to be more proactive with the regens, to try and improve on my paltry figures

On the way home last night the soot percentage was 61. Didn’t connect the phone this morning, and on the way home tonight the soot level is 52.

Have I had a failed regen?

A partial regen? (Is that possible?)

For me, with a passive regen I have never it drop that much.

But I have seen that all cars are different, for me, the soot must be 100% to get a regen. Again nothing but a successful regen changes the soot from 100%. On my last active regen, I saw that the distance since the last regeneration dropped during the active regen. Before it finished I hit a bit of traffic and the number stopped dropping but once past that it continued to drop to 0. Once at 0km the active regen finished and the soot level dropped to 11%.

I haven't had a Regen failure (fingers crossed) since I found the value "distance since the last regeneration", so I can't say for certain what will happen.

For @Kot I know that his active regens also happen at a lower %. But I don't know what is happening with his numbers during or after a successful or active regen.

It would be interesting to know the 2 km/mile values that people have: "Average Distance Between PF Regens" and "DPF distance since last Regeneration"

My current values are: Average 742km and distance since is 608km. From the data, I keep I expect my average to increase to about 751km. The lower average was caused by the last failures, since then for the last 3 Active Regen it has been over 750km. So I know on Friday I should plan a motorway blast. SDV8 AB MY 2020

Look at my post on page 8, at 59%, onto motorway slip road, and active regen kicked in almost immediately, nowhere near 100%, and very close to your 61%. Failed regen.

Thanks for the replies. I don’t keep an eye on miles to service, because I do so few miles it’s not relevant, the annual service comes before the mileage, but I will now try to keep a note!

After following along on this thread, been meaning to add my 2c. My experience has been that to get to active generation the DPF soot gets to around 93% slowly building up from single digits and there somewhere in the 90's flips to 100% and active re-generation starts. I have never seen it do it before this in terms of the % soot level.

Since I have been monitoring and been aware of the active generation triggers (and timed my driving accordingly) the time to service on the app started ~24k km till the next service and now saying 15k km and I have done around 9k km, so pretty linear in that regard. I will get serviced every 10k km so dont pay attention to it.

For the most part I do trips of reasonable distance with very little urban short distance running. The shortest I may reguarly do is 25-30km to and from work.

Could someone just confirm the threshold settings for both audible alarm and colour change. I've used >0.5 for amber (passive) and >1.5 for red (active).

But the second field is 'below' threshold not above it. How have others set this up?!

For sound use 1 as the threshold
I dont tick the box to play a sound below threshold as it will become annoying every time you passive Regen then back to none etc

visual -again use 1, I use white for background colour when above value.
use tickbox for "change colour and background colour and in the lower threshold box again 1
Value colour when the value is below threshold you can pick what you like

I have stopped the sound and just rely on the visual background going white with Red number it suits me 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue
