Heater Matrix to rear pipe (8K520) question

Hi,

My (new to me) 4.4tdv8 autobiography black has pipes that go from the heater matrix above the gearbox to the rear heating. I dont know if all l322's of this era have them, but after chasing a coolant leak, I've found the top of one of these aluminium hoses has a pinhole leak in it. I know its coolant and after presurising the system and seeing it p!ssing out above the gearbox and the sound deadening becoming waterlogged, I ventured underneath, took the sheilds off and got a nice antifreeze cocktail.

anyway, I've identified the part on microcat (8K520) in the diagram, but I cant seem to find a supplier. Does anyone know anywhere I can get hold of one? - or is it best to phone the dealer.

Also has anyone changed one before, or if a replacement pipe is hard to get, is there anything that would repair an aluminium pipe?

Cheers

Neil.

You could repair it with chemical metal I'm sure.

I believe the price for the part if available is in the "you'd better be sitting down" territory.

Recall a thread somwhere that had the owner replacing the corroded sections with good quality rubber/suitable pressure hose.

Hope my memory is still correct. Cheers

Would Chemical metal be able to handle the hot and cold/water pressure and all that? 2010 L322 Autobiography Black Edition

Look up the specs and decide for your self, if in doubt seek from a breakers as the new pipe it expensive or as mentioned replace with hose.

hmm. I think the part number is actually PFV500270 - which is about 135 quid plus the dreaded. Not as bad as I thought tbh. It looks like a bit of a pig of a job to do, so I'd rather only do it once! 2010 L322 Autobiography Black Edition
