So a newbie to the forum, having just collected my new L322 2012 Westminster yesterday. I always loved the shape of the L322 and the fact they are bit more analogue than the L405. (Also as a second car, I could not justify the increased spend on a later model doing relatively low miles each year as there is more space for depreciation). I can do basic maintenance but don't have the equipment or more crucially the know how to carry out any significant maintenance so I wanted to get one which I hope should give relatively trouble free motoring. I am not foolish enough to think that having bought a complex 11 year old SUV, that things wont go wrong but in an effort to minimise the risks, I wanted a relatively low miles car that had been clearly looked after.

My wife thought I was looking for a unicorn but recently one appeared for sale that ticked all my boxes -
Grey with black leather
Mileage was under 54,000 when I got it yesterday
Standard car which had been well maintained and treasured
Fitted with LR detachable Westfalia too with twin electrics and deployable sidesteps
Car came with a huge amount of history and receipts
The sellers were lovely people to deal with and that made the entire experience very special too.

The car is in fantastic condition and the almost 300 miles I did in it yesterday and it is a beautiful place to be.

I have done a lot of browsing on the forum in recent weeks and I have already learned a huge amount from the collective brains of the forum. I look forward to contributing more and will get some photos uploaded in coming days.

That sounds nice. Lower mileage examples becoming rarer now and can sometimes be priced at a premium.

Still love mine after 7 years.

Flew over on Wednesday morning, drove to see the car, deal done and drove to Holyhead and back on the ferry to Dublin, then a 2 Hour drive home. One key fob had a chipped plastic corner, so I ordered the OEM repair kit from Rimmer Bros. Also ordered a new set of Bosch wiper blades.
First impressions are this is an amazing car.

I couldn't have bought my Range Rover at a better time. A few days of snow showed the sure footedness of all wheel drive. So my early plans for the car -
I had the underside looked at with a view to having it undersealed. I am fortunate to live close to two Land Rover specialists. Chassis Seal NI said they hadn't seen such a clean L322 in a long time, which of course is great news. Anthony, the owner explained that they use Dinitrol and inject it using high pressure sprays into the box section cavities as well as coating the exterior having masked up things like brake lines and removed plastic arch liners etc. It looks like a great way to protect the L322 chassis long into the future and at a great price. The second plan is to use another local specialist called Beyond Performance 4 x 4 who offer a check over of a newly purchased vehicle. They charge just £65 and give the car a good check over and advise what needs done. I know mine has been well cared for but I'm thinking that going forward it will need serpentine belts and tensioners done, gearbox oil and filter change, diff oil change and of course bushes etc.

I bought a set of L405 alloys with Pirelli Scorpion Verde tyres. I think they are 502s? I added a photo. They will go on to let me get the existing wheels refurbished.

I do love the Westminster wheels too. I think refurbed they will look brilliant.

The wheels look great Jaygee and there are lots of sets to be had if anyone is looking a new / spare set for their L322.

Lots of L405 sell these 'standard' wheels when they want to 'upgrade' to 2" or 22" - their loss / our gain.... 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Thanks evotime. I'm delighted with the car. Picked it up via private sale on 4 January. Last owner bought it as an approved used car from Stratstone with 35k miles at around 4 years old. He had it for more than 6 years and covered around 3k miles between MoTs. I bought it with 53k. Sadly he passed last year and his son was selling it. Really lovely family. It was his pride and joy and I'm fortunate to carry on enjoying it and caring for it. He was a mechanic and looked after the car personally. It was definitely pampered.
