Data Consumption Rate

When I select “satellite” view on the Sat-Nav,
which requires connection via SIM card, does anybody know how much 3G data is consumed? Was wondering if I have this selected over a long drive, if I’m likely to race through the data allowance on the SIM card, or if it is negligible?

Thanks in advance. L405 2017 TDV6 AB

Yes, I’ve got a “Three” SIM card installed and they’re apparently switching off 3G by 2024 😔. I guess no connectivity features at all after that, unless aftermarket produces a 4/5G enabled receiver. L405 2017 TDV6 AB

I wouldn’t worry about the switch off for a few years yet.
They said the same about 2G , years ago and how long did it take them to switch off 405 line TV Rolling with laughter over 20 years!!

Here are the timelines for each network switching off 3G:

Vodafone is starting its switch-off in early 2023.
EE plans to start its switch-off in early 2024.
Three expects to switch-off by the end of 2024.
O2 has not yet announced any switch-off plans.

More details here:

But As BB states the dates could and will likely move, 2G switch off has been moved back until 2033. 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

I have had a SIM in my 2017 Vogue AB for a few months now with the satelite mode always on. Looking at the data usage seems to be 400-500mb per month. I just have a cheap data plan of 1.5GB and seems to be fine.
