P38 - drivers window innop

Before I tear into the window mechanism, I wondered if anyone may have an idea as to why the drivers window has stopped working.

Scenario/symptom:

New, fully charged battery.
Window lowered to half way, no problems. But now won’t go up or down.
All other windows and electric mirrors work fine.
Central locking fine.
Fuses fine.
Dashboard message centre beeps and advises to set the window memory when using the switch (so I assume the switch is not duff)
No sound coming from the door at all, no clicks etc.
No loose or chaffed wires visible - I have popped the door card off.

LHD car.

A little annoying, I’ve needed to cover the open window in plastic.

Any pointers appreciated. 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster - Baltic Blue, Jet interior

Hi, I'd go with switch. I have a similar issue with the passenger rear window. It will go down via the centre console switch, but only up via the door switch. Very annoying. All other functions work fine.

Thanks, doesn’t seem to be the switch pack. We raised the window my removing the drive motor from the lift mechanism, and then refitting it.

I’ve ordered a new motor as it seems to be duff, according to the volt meter.

It was a highly irritating way to end the weekend, especially after I fitted a brand new LR front bumper. She gives with one hand takes with the other… Laughing 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster - Baltic Blue, Jet interior
