Evoque Launch Today At Earls Court | |
My wife and I went to the Evoque Launch this morning at Earls Court. I wanted to take the FFRR as I prefer having more metal around me in London traffic. Unfortunately the blurb stated the car park to be multi storey but no height limit information. So to avoid issues we took the Wife's Freeloader - no issue really but slightly annoying.
Traffic was awful, A3 accident, Rugby at Twickenham, so we went up to the M4. Got there early only to wait 45 minutes in the foyer of Earls Court with a coffee staring at Evoque video going round and round - it got boring.
Finally we were allowed into the event, maybe 70 people sat down to watch 30 minutes of boys and girls dancing to very load music in an auditorium with multiple screens to themes for Pure, Dynamique and Prestige. No sign of a real car yet.
We then walked through to see the three vehicles. I have seen one on the road and looked very closely at one at Gaydon so knew what to expect. We sat in the front and rear of one after queuing a while. By then I was so off I had had enough and walked out, to go home and watch the Grand Prix.
I think they are trying to market this vehicle to people very different to us.
We did not want dancing bimbos, just an opportunity to have a look over the vehicle. Then when we got close there were too many crowded into a tiny area to make it pleasant. Land Rover need to do a much better job than this.
Having said all of that, the Evoque is quite nice small car and we will likely take one out for a test drive in September. 2018 Range Rover Autobiography
