It's used by the dealer to prevent battery drain when in the showroom or during transportation so don't connect it. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

AFAIK it's part of a set of protocols and other kit for dealer use so it should be left alone / has no benefit for the customer. If you download the workshop manual from the Wiki it explains it's function better than I can. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)
