Top coolant hose connection

So as usual the top coolant hose decided to snap in that oh so magical location.

I remember seeing a metal version of the coolant junction if anyone has a link?

But the problem is someones been here before and has done a fix, problem is they've changed the connector type and i've got nowhere for this sucker to go

So can I just carefully remove this and hook up the existing connector? Or is there somewhere it should plugin? Or is that under the manifold? Its actually a sport Sad

i ended up cutting the quick fit pipe out and reusing the old pipe. it know it's not OEM but thinking about it seems to make more sense.

tomorrow is a coolant flush and drain and we'll see how she runs.

if anyone does know where i can get a metal coolant junction that'd be great, defo a future upgrade imo since these seem so brittle. Its actually a sport Sad

If you mean the (four way) connector at the other end of that thin hose in your photo I saw an aluminium connector on a forum in the states. I don't think they are available off the shelf. I concluded the person in question bought a large bore straight (or T) piece aluminium hose coupling (they can be googled - I think they are available in the UK) and then drilled and tapped (or welded) the two smaller side connectors.

The connector your image shows is on a breather hose and you usually disconnect it from the front of the plenum before removing the plenum.

Mine actually failed at the end you show in the image (sheared on the 90 degree bend) so I just bought the whole four way hose assembly. I believe they usually snap at the other end to the one you show - the four way end. Hence that guy made an aluminium version.

The original design is stupid.

Went with best judgement, whacked open bleed screw and started filling with the heater on full temp and power till it couldnt take anymore.

Ran car

Topped up as necessary to ensure plenty of fluid.

Once the level wouldn't drop anymore I close top of expansion tank. At this point it's overfilled.

Held revs at 1.5k for any extra air bubbles.

Checked heating was nice and hot. Currently I've got an inch over the cold fill line.

If that remains when cold ill suck out the extra coolant gg. Its actually a sport Sad

It was the big hose with the intake temp sensor.

Did diffs, transfer box and power steering. That's all vital fluids done thankfully.

Just need to wait for a gearbox flush in couple of weeks Its actually a sport Sad
