Well there sort of is Stan, the outer Tube stations and rail stations all had big car parks, but a combination of increasing use by commuters and selling them off for development meant fewer visitors could use them. The blame lies in the way things are funded. Reduce the subsidy means sell off more of the non core assets to keep the service running. Eventually you run out of things to sell, but can’t ramp up the fares to suit.

Its interesting that I drive to Westfield and park then get tube to w1 when working in town its actually cheaper to drive a 2007 supercharged and pay the parking than get the train - now there is not much in it but they dont make public transport attractive
