Ski hatch not latching

Picked up my used MY19 AB last week and very happy with it.
Whilst trying to lower the rear executive seats I could get the right hand one to go using the buttons in the boot but not the left. The armrest is down and will not return to the upright position.
After further investigation it seems at some earlier point I’ve probably pressed the switch to release the ski hatch but not lowered it (it moved freely). This will now not latch back into position.
Could I be right in assuming this is a) preventing the arm rest from returning to the upright position and b) preventing the left hand seats from lowering?
I can hear the ski hatch release mechanism working if I press the button, it just won’t allow it to lock into place.
Anyone had experience of this? Ta v much. MY19 SDV8 Autobiography

It happened to me last week. I started to fold the near side rear seat, then brought it back up and the ski hatch latched OK. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

Thanks Martin, interesting.... my problem is I can't lower the near side seats only the right, and I thought this might be the cause - perhaps not then Confused Somehow it's got it's self in a muddle. MY19 SDV8 Autobiography

For me this quickly developed into a nightmare scenario. I had the seats down, and forgot to lock the seatbelts first, what is the easiest way not to get them stuck between the rear of the seat and the pillars when raising them again. Some days later I wanted to move a big painting, but the rear seats wouldn't budge. The car went back to the dealer, where they said the central armrest had a broken wire and the whole thing had to be custom made costing €6800,- , and they weren't sure approved covered it..

Somehow the mechanic got the seat upright again. So we can drive, but not haul anything sizable like an X-mas tree..

Some days later I had to take my elderly mum with her walker and yes, some part hit a button and the rear seat lowered.
And it would not go up again..

So I got a bit angry with it, starting feeling about if there was any movement anywhere, noticing the top section of the ski hatch was loose. I flipped it up manually and it bounced back : no locking.

So I continued bouncing it back until it clicked and locked, then I could raise the seat again. So I told the dealer if maybe the mechanic could consider a fault in this lock, not a broken wire in the armrest.. .. and so it was.

The result is that now I'm waiting for more as ten weeks with no delivery date in sight. And there's not even a chip in it !

This seriously worries me about the eventuality anything with a chip in it would need replacing.. Rolling Eyes

I did come across your previous post Dan when looking for a fix for my own problem, oddly enough I looked at another used one before I bought my car which also had unmovable seats amongst other issues so I walked away from it.

After another attempt last night at fiddling with it and still not getting it to latch I cycled the release button a few times with the hatch in the upright position then gave it another shove and hey presto it latched. Now the armrest will raise and the near side seats will lower. Risking everything I released the ski hatch again and it latched back 1st time so currently ’fixed’. Def seems to be a problem with the latch mechanism which I think I’ll get looked at under warranty if they will. MY19 SDV8 Autobiography
