Rear boot seal LR024161 - How to install?

Hi folks

2007 L322 TDV8 Vogue SE

Just a quick bit of advice please. I have a leaking boot which is down to the usual boot seal, or "tailgate aperture seal" as it listed on the invoice (top left hand corner is warped/swollen). My new one has arrived, but before I get stuck in, could someone just give me some hints/tips for installation before I rip off the old one?

Do I need any kind of adhesive, or does it just push into place? Would some silicone spray or petroleum jelly help things along?

I believe there’s a mastic type substance already applied to the inside of the seal - it does just push on, only tip I’d give to make sure the ends meet up correctly is take care around the corners to ensure it’s pushed right on Thumbs Up
