I personally prefer a 6000k colour temperature - I find it much less straining on the eyes at night, and is the typical colour temperature used in most modern cars.

Osram are good though and I had no complaints from these bulbs. I paid £65 for a pair, so if you search ebay you may be able to find a bargain.

Do HID bulbs suffer reduced output with age/ use? My experience with stock halogen nightbreakers is that the beam was just more narrow and focused therefore longer and brighter where it illuminated the road but the total brightness / light output is identical. For safer driving a narrower beam may not necessarily be better. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)
