Radio Light Flashing - everything working though?

(2007 Range Rover 3.6 TDV8 Vogue)

Hello, spent a good few hours looking on the site and google in general for this issue and while I can see all the posts point towards a faulty Bluetooth module, the symptoms I face seem to be similar but very different.

As far as I'm aware everything is working, radio is responsive when I use it, I have sound, the touchscreen also works as I would expect. Navigation has never worked as it moans I need to insert a NAV disc. Yet the power button on the radio flashes amber with the Land Rover logo on it when I take the key out of the ignition and lock the car (until everything shuts down correctly and then it goes off).

After reading the many posts I bypassed the bluetooth module with a proper bypass kit and also disconnected the bluetooth module power supply and other cables. Everything still works in the car, so I'm at a bit of a loss as to what else I should try. I'm in my 4th week of Land Rover ownership so apologies if this is a blindingly obvious question.

Not quite clear about what you are describing. Does it keep flashing when it is in play mode or only when you remove the key? If the latter that is normal until it all shuts down.

If the former, try switching it off by pressing the button and leaving till it shuts down. Keep the key in and the rest of the ignition at “live”. When it has shut down press the button again to restart it. Hopefully the system will reset.

Can’t think of any other suggestion other than, perhaps, a reset by disconnecting the battery and connecting the two leads for about 10 seconds. Then reconnect the battery. If you do that don’t forget to reset the steering angle sensorby turning the steering from lock to lock with the engine running. John

Hey John,

thanks for the quick and helpful reply. Yes that's right, when I take the key out, it's at that point it flashes until everything shuts down. Panic over in that case then! I think I've been fixating on a flashing amber light thinking there was something wrong, even though I didn't have any of the associated symptoms etc

Thanks again!

Ah! The many benefits of being the proud owner of a FullFat, it never ceases to keep you busy worrying it will fail, or fixing it when it does Rolling with laughter "it needs some intelligence to undestand you may not have enough"

Sure, although I'm sure there are better and cheaper options out there
