My strange sound is back - after pulling away from a dead stop I have what sounds like the sound of blowing over the top of an empty bottle. It only happens for a few seconds when I first start moving, generally at sub 2k revs.

There is no fluctuation in revs (and it happens in semi auto mode too) which makes me think it isn't the torque converter

If I let the car come to a complete stop without braking and then pull away again it still happens - so it can't be brakes binding either?

There is no play in the prop and diff oils and gearbox oils are freshly changed too.....where else should I be looking?!

Car is a 2005 s/c with 80k miles

I and others have reported this on the 4.4 TDV8. No one has found the culprit but I would guess from the sound it’s a resonance in the airbox or intake. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)
