DPF Regen Issues

Hi Everyone....

My MY 2012 VSE has an issue as follow:

1. The yellow DF warning has been on for a few days. Yesterday it was at 26+ Gms. I drove the car from cold straight onto the motorway, which is about 2 miles from my home. The car did a regen as normal reaching 650 celsius and the DPF dropped to 20 Grams. Despite several motorway runs yesterday it would not regen normally and the forced regen using the IID also failed to regenerate the DPF. Last night the DPF was at 23.6 Grams.

This morning I drove the car from cold straight onto the motorway and regeneration kicked in as normal reducing the soot load to 12.9 grams within 5 miles, and the yellow warning went off. I stayed on the motorway for a further 20 miles at 70 mph and no further regens took place.

I left the motorway and switched the IID over to forced regen, which again failed to regenerate the DPF during the 30 mile run back home with 13.6 soot volume showing on the IID.

I will let the engine cool over a couple of hours and see if it regens again today from a cold start.

Any pointers would be appreciated as I am due to go on a 1500 mile trip to Eastern Europe at 1:30am tomorrow morning, Friday the 11th November. I do have the option of using my second car, a Mercedes E220, but would prefer the Range Rover for comfort reasons.

I have read every DPF post on the forum and have not found a similar issue where the car on regenerates the DPF from a cold start.

If anyone has advice on an easy solution to the above issues then please let me know....

All comments greatly appreciated....

Take the Merc. Without further investigation you could end up stranded abroad. Avoid anymore forced regens via the GAP tool as they can permanently damage the DPF and should only be used as an emergency get you home solution. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Many thanks JayGee,

Advice appreciated... Will take the Merc and get my son to drop the fatty off at an independent LR specialist.
