Interesting thread resurrection !!!

At the risk of derailing the thread, how the heck do you rent a ramp ? Is it via a mate's garage, as there is nowhere near me that rents out ramps, probably just as well as I would spend half my life there Whistle Rolling with laughter But it would make life soooooo much easier.

He's a family friend, I insist he takes some money for rent... Thumbs Up

There were a few garages around here where you could hire a ramp by the hour but apparently insurance increases put paid to them all... Pete

Cheers Pete, I have a family member with a ramp at his business, but he is not happy putting stuff with the weight of a FFRR on it Big Cry

Luckily he has 5 ramps and three will take the weight of a 322, most will pickup the lightweight 405.... Thumbs Up Pete

My local indy charges £85/hr Shocked -not far off MD prices really.
But they have all the latest LR equipment and a great reputation…… Thumbs Up “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

£85 an hour is about half of what most main dealers would be charging these days I’d guess! 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather
2007 Range Rover Supercharged in Java Black with Ivory Leather
2012 Range Rover 5.0 SC Autobiography in Indus Silver with Jet/Ivory Interior

@dhallworth,

Yes, I realise that. Sorry I should also say that’s not inclusive of VAT, so in total £102, not sure if others above were VAT inclusive?

It’s relatively high for an Indy but they have a very professionally equipped workshop and LR trained mechanics, plus decades of experience, so I wouldn’t go anywhere else just to save a few quid Thumbs Up “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

I must admit, I've never asked as it's always fixed price not hourly based work I asking for.

I use Tim Fry Landrovers in Cheltenham which is 8 miles away, but next time I may try Craig see if he's cheaper, bit further away though. Last Job Megaflush £420 inc vat in September if that anything to go by.

£75 an hour in rainy North London, which for the boss I deem good value, it's the other plonkers working on my car that I get annoyed about but still I get charged £75, so I'm actively looking to go elsewhere !
