I did not know that Bora20 was a comedian, till now....... 'Blinker Fluid' slid into the middle of the list, must be very rare and expensive stuff |

If it's full dealer history then as has been said elsewhere don't forget you are playing the dealer service lottery so just because it should have been changed, doesn't mean it actually was, the only way to know is do it yourself.... or stand and watch it being done.. Pete

Nice one Halylands May I add that round our way, most Audi drivers seem to be in desperate need of a gallon or two

Well, all I can say is that if it's on the invoice, then it will have been changed.

I appreciate there will be a lot of very conscientious people working for main dealers but my experience leads me to believe they do omit things...

I believe another factor comes into play. Members of this site tend to be shall we say very demanding when it comes to maintenance, They will want certain oils to be changed which may not be included within certain service schedules, so differences of opinion will occur. |

Everyone forms opinions in part based upon their experiences, obviously I can't comment on your experience but I can understand how you got to your conclusion, neither of us will ever know the facts though. |

From a dealers PoV, if there is something on a service schedule they have the opportunity to sell, they'll do their best to sell it, Service plans are a good case in point - the exact service schedule has to be followed otherwise the insurance co. will refuse the claim in it's entirety. The audit trail within the DMS is exposed to the service plan provider (and some fleet co's.) so it's easy to see if the correct items have been booked to, and issued on the job. Clearly, that doesn't mean they have been used/fitted, there may occasionally be a lazy b'stard who misses a pollen filter etc. but the rest of the collective in the workshop usually do a good job of policing compliance with the service schedules. It's also quite a closed pool of employees, if you've messed up at one dealer, the chances of getting into another without it being known, or found out about shortly after are vanishingly small. |
