Interesting pointers, thanks. And I'd forgotten about High Peak. I'll give him a call tomorrow. Edit: It seems High peak 4x4 has closed down according to Google. But the search threw up Hallam Bros who I will ask.

Both fobs have had batteries. The clockspring and steering angle sensor I've not heard about in my research, nor the rear fibre optic cables. I shall ask about those.

WEBAC puts this car at over £8k if you input the reg. I'd rather fix it if I could though. 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography in black

£108 later I had a proper spec Varta battery.

This is a long shot as what you have, being new, should be ok. However, for £108 I doubt this an AGM battery which it should be for this vehicle. Everything seems to be pointing towards low voltage, are you absolutely certain that new battery isn't faulty (it happens)? Is the alternator ok (you may already have looked at this, I haven't read every post in depth). Just some ideas. Drives:

I collected it from the garage with a view to PXing or selling it this next week.

I'm wondering if during their work they might have got close.

It drove fine for a few miles, then on a roundabout where I'd expect the screens to go out, they didn't, but the car came up with the restricted performance light and went into limp mode instead. I limped home at 30mph.

Left it overnight and went to it this morning, no restricted warning light. I know it will come on again the next time there's a tight right-hand bend. And I know when plugged into the reader it will show many, many faults.

But the fact the screens stayed on makes me wonder if they were getting close. Or maybe just a red herring. 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography in black

If you had a tool capable of reading and clearing fault codes you would be able to clear the codes yourself then check again as soon as the fault occurred.
The restricted performance fault should be easier to find which might help find the cause of the other faults.

Does the speed of driving the tight right bend make any difference? Wondering if the faults are due to turning the steering or the body leaning? If jacking both front wheels off the ground then turning the steering causes the fault then that would help enourmously.

I've had it in the indy as its done it but it throws up too many faults.

Yes, its a body-leaning thing rather than a steering thing. It has to be something in the dash moving as the car tilts. 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography in black

Maybe worth removing the footwell side panels to wriggle the wiring and connectors behind them. The panels are easy to remove.

The indy spent three weeks poking around everywhere, they were at the point of removing the dash.

As it is, I'm buying a Vito van this week ( I needed it for work anyway) to plug the gap between this car going and finding a 17/18 L405.

I've taken an unseen deposit from a forum member for the car with a view to it going next weekend. I'm sure he will find the fault in five minutes and I'll be sick as a chip. Such is life. 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography in black
