If it helps. 4.4Tdv8 Starter

Hi. I had the good old clicking starter when i bought my bus so cracked on and went down the refurb Starter from Ap Oldham.
It lasted a week and left me in Asda car park the night before i was due to fly from Glasgow on Holiday (+/- 140 Miles each way)

Long and short was my auto electition managed to get a moving parts kit made up for my Denso Starter and did a full rebuild. Pinions, contacts and Bearings at half the cost of the Refurbed starter which now has to go back.

If it helps anyone out he can refurb a denso Starer for around £100.

Send me a Pm if you want his details.

Im located North East Scotland

Cheers

i hope it becomes a permanent repair.... but many have changed the starter motor, twice, and the problem returns... its mostly along the diagnosis, that the trigger wire, has a bad connection between the fuse box, and the motor. putting in a new motor, means the high resistance weak spot in the wiring is for a while, helped... but one day, it could return. i had the same. and tried two motors. in the end, a permanent repair was made, by running the external parallel wire method. there is a thread on this subject. -at least you know that the actual starter is not suspect now.
