The puddle lights are Canbus monitored. When I tried Halfords 'error free' LED bulbs as my side lights in my old 3.6, it still threw an error on the dash so, they may do the same in the puddle lights.

After reading your guide I’m I right in thinking these should not be a problem once fitted?

Generally they sell ok stuff but some of it is the same stuff available everywhere else with a massive markup on.

All LED bulbs say interior only because technically, LED bulbs in driving lamps designed for incandescent bulbs are an MOT failure. However driving lamps are regarded as headlights, brakes, indicators, side lights, main beam and reverse obviously. They're fine to use in comfort lighting such as mirror puddles. But those bulbs linked aren't Canbus error free. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8 |

Let us know if they work OK, there are a lot of "error free" bulbs out there that don't live up to their name... Pete

The 'CANBus' bit is a misnomer as well, all the lamps have to do is to draw enough current to prevent the lamp failure monitoring in the control module from signalling a defect, so theoretically with the application of Ohm's law and a soldering iron, you could make your own 'error free' LED lights, I suspect most of the failures are due to relatively high power resistors being encapsulated in small packages with little chance of airflow to dissipate the heat generated, personally, I'd mount the dummy load resistors somewhere else in the circuit with a bit of space around them. |

Decided that the LED options will be too bright for my needs, so plumped for these.
