Was playing with the IID tool today whilst sat on the drive, engine fully warmed up. I could not find the option for Bank 1 Commanded.

Is my EGR valve on the way out? Looks very odd to me but never seen these graphs before. Any advice gratefully received.

Regardless, if I had a 3.6 I'd blank them physically with a kit and electronically via an ECU flash from a reputable place e.g. Bodsy.
No more risk of them being ingested, engine breathes better and much less cost than 2 new EGRs supplied and fitted

Yep. Waiting for a call back from Empire - he was out on a test run. He did say there is a 3 week wait and £250 to blank and re-map.

I've ordered blanking plates off ebay for £5. Will put those in until re-map, really not happy with the look of that graph. 2007 3.6 TDV8

I had my 59reg 3.6 blanked and mappped out by bodsy 5 years ago and it’s made it loads better and one less thing to go wrong

Looked at the WM for the EGR valves and am now confused. I thought the left EGR valve would be left from the drivers seat but looking at their illustrations and location of the oil filter, it appears they are looking from the front of the car. I can't find a reference to bank 1 or 2, it's probably in there somewhere but can't see it. i have learnt that they use Vitrol in some oil seals and that could harm health or the planet or something!

Is bank 1 on the left or right from the drivers seat? 2007 3.6 TDV8

Blanked the Egr pipe at the exhaust end with a stainless steel blank from ebay. Fiddly but not difficult. Took it for a run, seems quieter and more responsive but that could be my boots. No leaks. 2007 3.6 TDV8

Had the EGRs mapped out by Empire shortly after last Post. Had a look at the inlets last month thinking I'd give them a clean, waste of time they were clean as a whistle.
Don't think it's made any difference to fuel economy overall. Still getting up to 33mpg on decent run. MPG seems to rely More on external temperature.

Still glad I blanked them. 2007 3.6 TDV8

Becoming interested in the blanking of the EGR and remapping exercise as more and more people seem to have done this. Was it done to just improve mpg on diesel and would the blanketing affect the pollution emissions etc. ie remain legal? If so I would seriously consider doing it now.

I didn't notice any difference in fuel economy. There has been a great improvement in response to throttle. Probably blasted loads of junk out of the intake etc. 2007 3.6 TDV8

You've blanked the less critical end of the EGRs.
Unless they're mapped out in the ECU they will still be operating & the unfortunate worst case failure is that the EGR valve head breaks up / off & gets digested by the engine & then turbos.
Blanking off at the inlet manifold needs to be done to avoid that horrible engine destroying scenario (experienced by a few owners on here )
