United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Baltic Blue

Miles apart IMO. The 405 comes out on top in all counts, internal comfort, stability, ride and I have to say in my case economy (even though 4.4's in both cases).

Towing the tin tent is no worse that the 322 in terms of visibility stability and power.

Then (again only IMO) the looks. I get that some say the 322 is the last proper looking Range Rover but subjectively a baltic blue 405 is far more appealing than Stornaway 322.

But just to contradict myself a little, from a standing start I believe my old 322 would sh*t on my current 405 - if thats your thing.

Oh and finally in the 405 corner - the pano - what a game changer. 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

L322 definitely

The look is so much more excusive, it's not like that L405 with weak plunging nose, I hate that round face it's so "banal" "it needs some intelligence to undestand you may not have enough"

The L322 is a better looking car.

Pano roof? In Australia? Not bloody likely. Too much heat input. I don’t even like the sunroof on my L322 nor our Subaru.

I took a call at the workshop where I was helping out last week and a chap asked about fixing the leak in his pano. The local LR dealer quoted A$20,000 to fix it. They told him they’d have to replace the roof. Ron B. VK2OTC

England 2015 Range Rover SVAutobiography SDV8 Loire Blue

I look at both all day long here and have to say, my 405's both look better than 322's BUT... The 322 is a far better Range Rover! The 405 is a nicer car, even with its drawbacks...

And I think our grey 405 is a better looking car than the blue one! That said, the LWB again takes the biscuit over the SWB... Oh, decisions decisions... Thumbs Up

The L405 is the better car,
The L322 is the better Range Rover.

Never liked pan. roofs, neither from a tech's or owners perspective, that said, a lot of modern cars are depressing like mausoleums inside with the 'bible black' headlining and LED lighting giving no natural or background illumination. Aside from cleaning, the light headlining in my L322 combined with the 'spill' you only get from tungsten lighting makes it a very pleasant place to be, day or night.

Before I bought my current L322, I had three opportunities to buy a L405 at very good prices, I didn't have even a spark of enthusiasm for any of them, aside from the 'jelly mould' corners, there's nothing special enough, sure, they're dressed-up nicely enough, but they're cars not Range Rovers
