Have the black screen on the reversing camera.

Went to have a poke about and the wire that goes into the gold connector has fallen out completely.

Is this wire/lead available separately to a whole camera unit?

It looks like it plugs into the back of the camera unit. Or is it a case of just replace the lot if I have to take the thing out to change the lead anyway?

It's more likely that the camera has failed and someone has 'fiddled' with it? If not, just repair/re-join the cable.

The car accepts any PAL camera so, you can buy pretty much anything off ebay or Amazon and wire it in. I did on my 2006. Warning, you need one with a photosensitive sensor for any infrared bulbs because the circuit runs all the time and you just end up driving around with the lights on all the time. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

It's a standard connector but the crimp tool will cost you more than the camera...
Two choices, either find another one on fleabay that you can buy cheaply enough to use the connector from and join that to your camera using phono connectors or similar, or if you're not bothered about keeping the tailgate harness original, just use some phono connectors on both parts.

If you want to replace the camera, you'll need an NTSC variant, not PAL
