Bobbly braking

Front brakes feel a bit bobbly/ juddery under braking, for example when slowing down to exit the motorway. Wouldn’t say the brakes feel spongy at all but Mrs PLD doesn’t feel the brakes are quite as sharp.

Car was recently in at the main dealer during which time they did a brake fluid change. The brakes didn’t feel like they do now before the brake fluid change.

The front discs and pads are new and the wheels and tyres are fine.

Could a brake fluid change cause this sensation?

It could potentially feel like that if they introduced a bit of air into the system when they did the fluid change.

Take it back to them and ask them to perform a bleed, including the ABS system using the bleed nipples under the bonnet. Kev

Sometimes when the brake caliper pistons are corroded and are pushed back (without being cleaned off) when new pads are inserted they can become sticky, and the sticking will produce a juddering. That happened when I had new pads on my first 322, though there there was also some tearing of the rubber gaiter which might have fouled the piston. If the car can safely be stopped after the juddering is felt you could see if the wheel is hot which would be indicative of a sticking piston (with care to avoid getting burned). Only Range Rovers since 1988

England 2013 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Luxor

I had a similar thing after service, took it back. They said that there were marks on the discs, possibly from standing too long after wet driving. They removed, and cleaned all the discs (expensive) it was ok after that. 2013 SDV8 4.4 SE Luxor.
1960 Series 2 88 inch diesel.
1955 Series 1 86 inch petrol.
