Appearance Cover washer

Hi Everyone,

I needed to remove the engine cover on my 2009 Autobiography and discovered that there should be a washer between the top of the "Engine Cover Mount Stud (part # KKN500061) and the bottom side of the engine cover.

From what I can see the cover has a grommet in the mounting hole and this washer is held in place by the cylindrical part sticking up (sorry about the poor description).

Here are a bunch of photos of this small washer.

I've been unable to find it in any parts diagrams and one mail order place I called tells me it's only available with the whole appearance cover ($320 USD).

It seems that I could easily use an ordinary flat washer. But, I'm just too pedantic for that and really want to get the correct part Confused .

Has anyone seen this available anywhere or maybe suggestions on where I could look for it?

Thanks!

Have you considered a disc spring nut or a large flanged nut, which would get very close? 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Re: Appearance Cover washer SOLVED

Hi Everyone,

I found the answer! It turns out that this washer slid into a rubber grommet in the appearance cover. I just happened to stumble upon a, “M6 Rubber Grommets Bolt” on Amazon and it’s the actual grommet with the top hat washer. I guess in this application it’s called a, “Grommet Bolt.”

The new one is a bit thicker but works perfectly. Original is on the left in this picture.

This is the actual one I bought (pack of 10) for only $11 USD.

I’d bet if you walked into almost any motorcycle shop and asked for this they’d likely have them to mount fairings onto the bikes. Maybe not as cheap but you’d get them right then!

Thanks again to everyone!
