It looks like the TPMS initiator coil plug, which is mounted on the wheel arch liner. |

Yep, that's it - I'm guessing you don't have TPMS as that is a blank connector dock.

Strange, I would have thought TPMS was a basic feature even in 2012 especially in a big heavy vehicle!

IIRC it was an option - a deletable option on some specs. for instance, it was rarely fitted to Landrover Experience vehicles, all that changed once mandated by the EU of course, although I think it can still be deleted from POR vehicles build spec. It's also possible it was originally built for a non-EU market (or Conrico Int. etc.) or 'government work', development vehicle etc. etc. have a look on one of the many VIN checking websites for the build spec codes. |
