United Kingdom 2017 Range Rover Vogue TDV6 Corris Grey

@AndyS:

Well I used to, but the OS ones always used to block the view of the road too much! šŸ¤£
Handy in this hot weather as a screen shade, thoā€™! šŸ‘šŸ¼šŸ˜‡

I must admit, old habits die hard, I STILL carry a 2007 Phillips hardback UK Road Atlas in the car šŸ¤£ Never opened it since er, 2009 šŸ˜Š at least the Russians canā€™t interfere with that, come the Apocalypse! šŸ¤Ø ā€œIf it ainā€™t broke, donā€™t fix itā€ -whereā€™s the fun in that?

OK, so a bit of an update here.......

Being a glutton for punishment, I discovered there was a new update available recently, so downloaded it to the same SanDisk Ultra Flair 64Gb stick on my iMac. I should add that two weeks ago, I noticed that tailgate operation was sluggish, even though the car is permanently plugged in to my smart charger when not being driven. Anyway a check of the battery showed it was down to only 39% capacity, so in went a new main battery.
This time, the MAP update went much faster, just sat on the drive on the charger and and having to press the ignition button once during upload to keep it on. All done in 15 mins.

Coincidence?

Just thought it might help someone else on here..... ā€œIf it ainā€™t broke, donā€™t fix itā€ -whereā€™s the fun in that?

Hi I looked up Cam Tech Craigs Icarsoft Box it looks like a car Diagnostic tool, how does this work with the Nav?
Could Cam Tech Craig explain ? As I too have My 14 Range Rover and can not get mapping updates for my car In Australia.

@jettec, the iCarsoft V2/V3 is just a diagnostic/service tool, it cannot help with map updates, Iā€™m not sure where you got that idea from.
You should be able to download map updates from anywhere in the world on your PC or iMac/MacBook, but first you have to pay for a subscription to allow you to do so, -its not free.
Once you have paid, you will be able to log in to the landrover.here website and download the map files to a correctly-formatted USB stick, search on here, there are a few threads. Thumbs Up ā€œIf it ainā€™t broke, donā€™t fix itā€ -whereā€™s the fun in that?

Hi Gremlin, I was asking Cam Tech Craig, as he said he has replaced his nav with the Icarsoft box for his Navigation in one of the above answers to this post.
I checked and only found it was diagnostic tool as well, like you.
However Cam Tech Craig has many hidden talents when it comes to Range Rover tinkering! So maybe he has a secret way of making this machine bend to his will!
He is a Range Rover Whisperer !
Thank you Gremlin for your reply.

Hi @jettec,

Perhaps Cam-Tech-Craig can enlighten us, maybe that was a typo?
There is a UK company called ā€œIn Carā€ that does aftermarket custom satnav installsā€¦ā€¦. Whistle
Very similar-soundingā€¦ā€¦.. ā€œIf it ainā€™t broke, donā€™t fix itā€ -whereā€™s the fun in that?
