Anti Theft Measures

Did I imagine this or have I read somewhere that in order to prevent keyless theft the L460 continually cycles it’s key codes to prevent signals being relayed?

I can’t seem to find anything online.

They have Ultra Wideband keys like the 2018-on L405s.

Thanks Philip,

So essentially no greater theft protection than with previous models?

Not great from JLR.

Don’t know what else has changed, but that seems to be the current most secure form of keyless.

Thanks Gremlin.

The streets of North London this weekend suddenly seem a safer place!

I’m really not sure, I enquired, and the new key doesn’t emit a signal to start the process . Apprantly the initiation is from the car, thus (somehow) stopping the relay from the kitchen table via another computer device….
As I said not at all sure!!!!! Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

He who dies with the most toys wins...

UWB stops the key signal being “boosted” because it’s constantly measuring how close the key is to the car and won’t allow it to be started unless it’s inside.
