2012 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 V8 Buckingham Blue

Rear Caliper Sliders

Have a 2012 4.4 diesel and I am refurbishing the rear calipers.

Bought a new set of sliders which seem to be the correct ones however the ones that came off are slightly different as they have a black rubber type band near the ends. I did not note if these were the top or bottom sliders. I am happy to simply replace them with all solid ones from the kit but would imagine these are original Land Rover sliders and wondered what the significance was of these rubber bands?

Anyone have any ideas?

Just for clarity two of the sliders that came out were solid and two had these rubbers around the end.

According the diagram the sliders are part number LR017032

Looking at the photo's of LR017032 look solid to me with no rubber around the end.

I had the same dilemma when I did mine....

I "think" they are to stop calliper rattle...

Top or bottom... depends on who you talk to, I can't see it makes much difference, mine (helpfully) had one in the top and one in the bottom...!!!

If you fit the plain ones and you get a click or thunk every time you hit the brakes you may need to fit the rubber ones back...

Cheers Pete,

The strange thing is LR only list one style of slider which seems to be the solid ones! Cannot find any info on these ones with the rubber section built in.

Yes they appear to be an anti-vibration feature.

Lucky for me I love a little rattle from my back calipers when I brake.....
