I don't see why you couldn't buy it from outside the UK. I bought many parts for my former car there. The shipping is not very expensive. But you should try the NY guys too, NavTool.

The color is Santorini Black. The PHEV is a perfect solution for my daily commute. I don't use gas at all, but charge it at work and sometimes at home overnight. While away for holidays, the gas consumption was about 24mpg.

It doesn’t take longer, your back up camera starts immediately no lag.

I have mine set up for the Land Rover logo not android.

It shows your oem screen menu, and you toggle to android screen.

You retain and keep your factory functions all of them. Your factory nav works as original.

You can switch between, waze, google maps, any aftermarket app on your phone projected on your screen and controlled by the screen. Your android screen controls your phone.

Hi, did you read my original post? I have seen that product, and correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't that product:

- Take longer to start than OEM? If I start the car and put it in reverse how many seconds until I see the backup camera image on the screen?
- Show an Android logo?
- Show an Android menu when clicking home?

These are some of the issues I have with the product. I want it to feel as OEM and transparent as possible without any new downsides. Only adding CarPlay not taking anything away.

I got a response from NavTool. They said their solution does not work through touchscreen.

I don't really want to see an Android screen at all after it is installed and set up. Only the factory Land Rover screens and the Apple CarPlay screen. Is it possible to configure it like that - to hide every Android menu for day to day use? If I press the home button I would prefer to see the factory home screen as I do today.

When in CarPlay and I click the Land Rover / car logo in CarPlay I want to go back to the Land Rover factory menu - not to an Android menu. Is this possible? Thanks.

Maybe they didn't understand exactly what you want? Their solution is not an android unit, it just injects video to the MMI. I don't see why it shouldn't work with the touchscreen, but if it doesn't, trust me, while on the road, a rotary controller is way better than the touchscreen...

I have discovered a potential candidate: Naviks. Looking at this video it looks like the home button is used to go to CarPlay - as opposed to the navigation button, so probably the OEM navigation is still available.

I still haven't got one. The Naviks one looks like the one that does what I want: Unobtrusively preserving all existing functionality (including factory nav.) while adding CarPlay. I've been using Waze since my Sat Nav packed up - its great and real time but it always routes me the shortest rather than the fastest or most suitable route, I've been down some very narrow lanes. I'm sure there is a setting somewhere! Geoff

i've gone for a stand alone aftermarket 7'' screen unit from coral vision that has AA and carplay [a music/video player as well]..

its mounted on the top vents and my phone plugs into it and activates AA...i'm trying both waze and google maps to see which suits me the best but agree with Geoff both are miles ahead of the FF nav..
sound can be linked via cable to the FF aux or via FM radio which surprisingly works well..

its much cheaper than the stuff from unique and less hassle to fit... ... - .- -.

Bumping this…has anyone tried the Naviks unit? Seems like a good option

Update: I ordered the wireless Carplay adapter/system from Unique AD. It does ship from the UK, but their support seems to be good. When it arrives I will attempt to install it myself.

It was not easy to find a convenient solution that preserved the factory nav. This solution replaces the factory nav, but the convenience of Carplay and updated maps and faster destination entry should be more important than OEM navigation features such as navigation cues in the Heads Up Display. For cases where there is no cell coverage I will:

- Have a paper map as a backup
- As well as possibly some iPhone apps where you can download the maps ahead of time for off-road use.

About Naviks: on the Naviks website it said that you had to send the screen to them in order to preserve factory navigation. I didn't want to do that so I gave up on finding a solution that preserves the factory system. L405 2016 - Supercharged V6 petrol 380hp

Update: I went with the Naviks system, and live close enough to have them install directly. It’s been great. They did disconnect the native nav system, but it’s still there if I want to reconnect it down the line. Has performed perfectly over the last 6 months or so.
