An incredible lady.

A couple of years ago I spent the afternoon with her at one of her Great Grandchildren's Christenings. Obviously in a private setting, but a lovely, funny switched on kind lady, who was clearly loved by her extended family.

She will be missed.

Had the pleasure of meeting HM a couple of times when i was a serving sea cadet... And then more recently when i escorted my old mum to Windsor for her OBE...

At 35 years old, Queen Elizabeth was on the throne for twice as long as I've been alive.

I'm by no means a Royalist but have utmost admiration for for her majesty. May she now rest in peace and enjoy her time with Philip.

I remember meeting the Queen when we were in Primary School. She boarded a train in our village and they rolled out the red carpet for her. We were all there standing at the side and someone from each class handed her a bouquet of flowers.

Quite surprising how even typing this I can feel a lump in my throat.

A very sad day for someone who was known and respected the world over. In this day and age for someone to reign for 70 years and have no dramas, scandal or anything surrounding them personally is totally unheard of. There are hundreds of people in power in the UK today that should take a leaf out of her book in my opinion.

I was on the afternoon ferry from caen to Portsmouth yesterday when it was announced. They lowered the rear French flag to half mast, which was nice.
Never seen so many people around a TV on a ferry before like yesterday.

There could also be a few of her RR's coming up for sale i should imagine.
