I remember on my 2003 FF that the rear left corner got wet and it affected the stereo.

Seem to remember wrapping it all in a plastic bag! Tym

Started to get random false signals a few weeks ago and then nothing. No light on the switch and a lost connection error on the GAP IID fault scan. Checked all the wiring for power and continuity but didn't suspect the PAM as it was new and didn't show any water stains on the outside. One of the chip 'legs' (nr the 'i' in the pic) has corroded right through. Looks too small to solder and there may be other damage so will order a new one.
Going to either put the next one in a plastic bag or try to see if I can mount it upside down.

have you checked tail gate seal on corners?

After 2 days and nights of at times torrential rain I can't see any water stains on 2 sheets of A4 paper I put over the rear electronics so no wiser as to how water got in there unless somehow it gets splashed up from underneath when driving in wet conditions? There is substantial water run off after rain down the left gap between seal and corner trim but the seal for the upper hatch seems good. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)
