Overfinch 480S

I was wondering if anyone could help me with finding some more information on one of my Range Rovers. I have a 2002/3 Range Rover Overfinch 480s which I acquired a while back with the intention of keeping for a very long time. But I need to clear some room out for a new project so sadly it may have to go.

It has a huge folder of history, so I know it was in 'The Patrick Collection' for a large portion of its life and that explains why it has only done 50k miles. I have managed to get Overfinch to confirm its genuine in their opinion from pictures of the unique parts, but apparently since being taken over they didn't keep any of the records on specific cars/models, and couldn't tell me how many were produced or any details on all the work involved in the upgrade. It definitely seems to have different gear rations, and an Overfinch rear differential from the plaques/part numbers on them compared to the standard one I have. It also goes and sounds way better then my standard 4.4, is this just from the exhaust, or was there some engine work carried out?

Does anyone know any more information about them please? Or worked at Overfinch? I've seen lots of 580S's go for sale but never a 480s. I searched google and only found one having sold before through Dream Marques but the advert had disappeared. I have often check to see if any others go up for sale in they hope it would have a few more details, but none ever have during my ownership.

Thanks you

Hi,
Very nice specs here's mine - rare beasts indeed.

Overfinch also made available a 480S Sports Pack for the 2003-2005 models as an add-on package. It included:
- Re-programmed engine management ECU
-Free flow stainless steel exhaust
-Dual contoured polished oval exhaust tails
-New gear ratios
-Overfinch ovals front and rear ‘480S’ badge on the tailgate
Mid-range torque was substantially improved, and the result is a much better response than can be achieved by a simple "rechipping" of the engine. There is a 1-second improvement in 0-60 time and 2.5 seconds improvement to 100 mph. "

That is a really nice colour, is it Eastnor Green?

Mine is in Givenchy Green, which I would never have chosen myself but, it looks really nice.

I like that matching classic with the brooklands wheels. I wish I'd never sold mine, I sold its for £1500 back in 2005 with 80k miles. When they were their least desirable. Regretted it ever since!

It is interesting to see that list of spec. I was trying to find if it was a total package or if their were various options within it. Mine has a lovely tan interior with green alcantara which is clearly custom so I assume by Overfinch. I was dossapointed to find the new American owner is just there to sell body kits and kept none of the old files it history.

This is so subjective, so you are very welcome to back down from answering. But what do think they are worth. Open to anyone to make a suggestion. I've found it really hard to decide if it is worth selling. You see p38's now at 20k, and they were always the least loved of the Range Rovers. I was offered 12k a while back, but I wasn't interested in selling then. It is still low 50k miles and given how few over ever seen or heard of, I can't imagine they ever sold that many. But it is also a 4.4 v8 range rover which isn't maybe the most popular with current fuel prices Laughing

Sorry forgot to say, of course I will definitely share some images, but it will be mid next week when I have it back. It is away at the moment getting a full detail and tidy up and all my other images are lost somewhere on a hard drive.

Looking forward to seeing the pics.
This is Balmoral Green from the 1984 Balmoral edition.
Considering you are getting it nice and tidy, I doubt you want to sell it Wink . Prices are challenging to estimate.
considering how rare mine was, I did not mind spending whatever it needed, but many would not spend that type o money on a 322- that said I have never let me down; not bad for a 2004 322.
The last 580S with its original, rebuilt engine was advertised for 30.000 about 18 months ago and had every option selected, including the boot jumper seats. l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

Really sorry its taken this long. Been struggling to find the time to take some good photographs. In the words of the garage who did the service this week, "looks like it has just rolled out the factory". She's obviously done 56,000 very gentle miles.

Nice and subtle, if you didn’t know it was an overfinch then you would be hard pressed to tell, unlike new Ones…..

It’s difficult to set a price, as it’s a rare car and there are no comps out there, but to be honest with something like that a quality auction might be the way to achieve the best price, with a set reserve at what you would be happy to take. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I personally couldn't agree more. Not to offend those with the later overfinch cars, each to their own, but really not my taste. It really saddened me when they sold out to a US company so they could brand wheels and body kits that ruin the whole purpose of the car. Overfinch was about proper performance modifications which didn't take away from the cars all round ability. It made me even more annoyed to know they didn't keep any old records, and are now trying to sell a classic for £150k which isn't a scratch on the likes of Kingsley's work.

Rant over Laughing, your dead right about pricing. I've commented all over forums and online and have found 2 so far. So no idea how many they made. But it certainly seems they are rare. I've considered collecting cars, but I am do think the buys are overcharged. The closest milage early BMW L322 (personally the best looking of that generation IMHO) is a Gold TD6 with 66k for sale at £13k. I think I'd be happy somewhere between there are 20k. Its had a fortune spent, but I'd want it to go somewhere it would be looked after and enjoyed.

Westfields, soooooooo. clean and tidy…. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

He who dies with the most toys wins...
