I need a new front tyre (worn due to tracking).
Car has Nexens all round at the moment.
I am a fairly "spirited" driver - I quite like hustling the FFRR along at a decent pace... that said, I don't expect the FF to handle like a sports car. I also want the ability to go offroad (but not hardcore offroad - just muddy track).
I'm fairly happy with the Nexens, but I've not tried anything else.

Given that I need to replace the front pair (garage can't get a new unidirectional Nexen?), what would anyone recommend?
I will replace the rears in due course with something similar.
Garage is recommending Generals (will find out which model tomorrow).

If you don’t really go off-road, I’d go for something more road-biased than AT3s.

Cooper AT3’s are far quieter than General AT’s I’ve got a set of 285/50/20’s on mine for winter /shooting season - they are the nicest most comfortable AT’s I’ve driven on in a LR/RR. I’ve had 3 sets of the Grabbers and the Coopers are a far better and more refined tyre.

FWIW I had a set of Nexen Rodians on an L322 and they were truly awful tyres - I removed them after 3k miles 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Iv got gg at3s on my m62, bit of mild off road during shooting season. Silent on the Road.

For just the occasional muddy track I wouldn't deviate from road tyres as any off road or semi off road tyre will be a serious compromise for road handling and especially if you are pushing it hard. Unless you have good reason not to I'd go with stock OEM Pirelli Scorpion Verde 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

reality is that this car is on the road 99% of the time so I'd be best off with road tyres.
My local independent LR specialist is recommending General Grabber GT+.

I couldn’t tell the difference when we had some on the L322 that’s for sure. We used to cross some wet grass fields, they were a nightmare on the standard tyres. Sold - Bell a 2015 MY16 Loire Blue Autobiography 4.4 SDV8
