You need to buy a license for every car. When you buy it comes with one… if you want to buy another it takes seconds and it’s still cheaper than your friend visiting a dealer or independent to have the codes read.

Thanks for the reply, didn’t realise you could have the device registered to multiple vehicles. 2008 RRS HST - loved the car from 6 months old until a few years old

Unless things have changed, an IID locked to 1 vin is capable of reading faults of other vehivles woithout having to but additional licenses.

My Gap tool has read & cleared faults on two other L322 vehicles both were 2006/7 Tdv8. Also reads live data such as gearbox temp & reset service light. Won’t change ccf or calibrate suspension etc. hope this helps. |

Thanks for all the advice. Found another mates Freelander and it had no problems both reading and deleting the error codes.
